About Us
Ordsall Acappella Singers started as a community project engaging the local people of Ordsall, Salford and encouraging them to sing.
Starting in the Neighbourhood Centre, a few people gathered together to start what would become an award winning choir that competes on a national scale. Over fifteen years later, countless concerts, competitions, songs and rehearsals have crafted a 50 strong choir that can perform at any occasion.
The choir have sung at events as diverse as the Salford Ceremonial Mayor's investiture, Victoria Baths heritage open days, local community events and competitions in Buxton, Llandudno and in Manchester. We have been involved in productions at Home Theatre and Manchester Museum.
In 2017 we won the Salford Choral Competition and often are awarded highly commended at the Buxton Festival Fringe and winning our category in 2019 and 2022.
We sing totally without any backing, A Capella, with a repertoire that ranges from classical to classic rock, upbeat pop and lullabies, traditional and newly composed pieces.
No concert is ever the same and so come and see us wherever we perform.
If that wasn't enough, we usually try to feed you cake as well!

Chair
Musical Director

Chris Beadsmoore is the Chair of Ordsall Acappella Singers and aided by a fantastic committee, organises the choir and (mostly) keeps our boisterous MD in check!

Jeff Borradaile has been MD for over fifteen years and has brought the choir from strength to strength.

Jeff is a professional MD who runs a number of choirs throughout the North West. He has done everything from large scale outdoor arts events, to small groups on stage supporting professional theatre productions.

Whether working with 500 singers or 5, Jeff always brings the music and makes every event special, even if it is just a rehearsal.
